Show Notes – June 2011

June 25th, 2011

The topic for this Saturday's radio program is: "What are we working for?" I had Shaun Somers, Lyndsay King, Karin and Dann DeLaRosa in studio for the show. WE talked about what makes a good boss and and bad boss. We also talked about what is your motivation when you are working. Is the to get another dollar so that you can buy the item on your list? It is to gain financial security? We all came to the conclusion that first an for most that no matter what work you are doing it should be about serving. I would say serving Christ first and foremost and the rest always seems to fall into place.

Valdir Prospero and I talked about Cash Back Mortgages in Canada and Home Equity Loans in New York. To contact Valdir please click here.

The topic for this Saturday's radio program is: "Our we sacrificing our religious beliefs in the name of tolerance?" You may be asking what is sparking this question. With all that is going on in New York State this week with the potential passage of legalizing gay marriage, I want you to read a quote from a local elected official "If I take the Catholic out of me, which is hard to do, then absolutely they should have these rights." from New York State Senator Mark Grisanti. So here is the question: "Our we sacrificing our religious beliefs in the name of tolerance?"

The topic for this Saturday's radio program is: POLITICS – ETHICS AND MORALITY. We will be talking about Anthony Weiner (and various other politicians from the USA and Canada) and the shift in North America's moral compass to the point that now more than 50% of the population believes that as long as there was not any physical contact between two people (i.e. an online relationship) it is not deemed to be cheating on your spouse within the bonds of marriage. We will also be talking about the role of social media (Facebook and Twitter) and the potential that they play with these online relationships that are outside of the marriage vows.

Open topics for this week. We talked about graduates and what they can do go get a job. We even touched a little on social networking, gas and oil prices, the economic data that was release this week for the US and some on politics. While we had a lot of different material I felt like it did fit together. I always look forward to listener input and I feel very privileged to be able to provide programming to WDCX and the communities that this radio station serves.

Valdir Prospero and I talked about the market moving lower this week and LSF (Labor Sponsor Funds).
